Start here to get there! Unique transfer partnerships with the schools listed below allow for an easy transfer if you are ready to continue your studies. Achieve your academic goals and alleviate student debt through our transfer partnerships at the University Centre, with four-year colleges and universities, and other community colleges. The Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) is designed to facilitate the transfer of general education requirements from one institution to another. UMM is an institution participating in this Agreement. The MTA is effective for students who started at a community college in the fall of 2014 or later. If you meet the requirements of the MTA and the confirmation is indicated on your official transcript, your requirements for general secondary education at UMM will be met. Each course is also assessed individually as a transfer loan that could meet major/minor or other graduation requirements. WMU has partnered with many institutions to provide a smooth transfer process for students starting their academic career at a community college. Transfer guides suggest specific course selections for students who wish to pursue specific majors. They explain the requirements and prerequisites of each program. Articulation agreements are formal documents signed by the UMM and a partner institution for specific courses designed by Major. Students should use these tools in coordination with their community college and UMM to take the shortest path to graduation at the lowest cost. Northwestern Michigan College assumes no definitive responsibility for the accuracy of the information contained in this guide.
The ultimate responsibility for the successful transfer of the classes offered in this guide rests with you and the institution to which you wish to transfer. It is highly recommended to visit the institution as early as possible in your academic career (before the transfer). Many 4-year institutions award scholarships to students who have completed at least thirty transferable credits and have a cumulative average of at least 3.0. Transfer scholarships vary, so ask your transfer institution what their requirements are. NMC recommends that students complete the MTA agreement with NMC before moving to WMU by taking the following NMC courses listed under BASIC Requirements. .
